The Cost of "Just Adopting".

When you are infertile... most people will tell you to "just adopt."

But... "just adopting" is expensive.
Even more expensive than fertility treatments.

The cost of private adoption in Nevada is $45,000.

In the last 4 years, Eric and I have spent nearly $50,000 trying to become parents.

Here is a breakdown of where that money went:

2015:
Fertility Testing Round 1... $1000 (No results.)

2016:
Adoption Home Study #1... $1500
2 Cribs, 1 Dresser, Fire Extinguishers, Baby Proofing Supplies, Etc., Etc. ... $2200

2017:

Attorney Fees Fighting for Will #2: $4200

IUI Meds: $700

IVF Meds #1: $7000
IVF #1: $15,500
IVF Genetic Testing: $5500

We do not yet have this money.

In order to become parents, we have mortgaged our house, taken out loans, and begged and borrowed our way to that money and we still have no baby to show for it.

We've come to a crossroads. We simply cannot afford another loan. Our house cannot be remortgaged. Our savings has run dry. Either we give up our dream of becoming parents, or we beg our village to help us achieve that dream.

I'm not ready to give up on my dream of becoming a mom.

Without you, our dear friends and family, we may never be able to have a baby. We would not ask for this amount of money if it were not the exact dollar amount given to us by our adoption agency. We know we will qualify for grants, but in order to even apply our home study has to be updated first.

We NEED $2000 to complete an updated home study.

Every single solitary penny helps us get to our goal of having a child. No donation is too big or too small. Please do not feel embarrassed to even give just $1.

There is no way we can possibly thank you enough for all the support and love you have given to our family. Without you, a child will be an orphan. Without you, we will not be parents.
